French Bulldogs: Color Standards in Competitions

French bulldogs are available in many colors and skin coatings. You need to check out the right standards of the breeds and it can be easily done by visiting a dog show in or near your city. The color specifications are very important for bulldogs during dog shows. In these events, the dogs can’t have coatings or markings on their skin and they exhibit the dogs with clean and flawless skin tone.
French bulldogs having any discoloration or marks on their skin are disqualified from the competitions. They need to meet the breed standards to participate in these dog shows. The pure breeds are always given preference than the dogs having a bit of variation. Pet quality French bulldogs are different from the ones in the competition. These may have a little variation, but the dog show owners give preference only to the Pure Breeds of the dogs. The price of pure breed dogs is higher than the ones having a little variation, marking or skin tone difference.

The major combinations of French bulldogs are fawn, white and all brindle color combinations. There are black, mouse, tan and off-white colored dogs also available, but those have higher probability of skin markings. French bulldog owners have the most important task to determine whether their dog qualifies in color aspect or not. Experienced breeders have the fullest knowledge about the breeding standards and coating colors. Apart from color, the features of dog should also meet the standards of breeding. The eyes are usually dark in color with a pure black nose (lighter colored in some cases).

The quality of French bulldog depends on their ascendants. The dogs available in the exhibitions, dog shows or competitions are the best ones having supreme level of competition. French bulldogs are treasured pets and beautiful creatures to keep at home and spend time with them.
